Good writing is the best way to grab attention, attract more clients, grow your business, show people you’re a pro at what you do, and beat all your competition.
Being a good writer is almost like having a superpower.
But there’s just one problem.
Most writing is absolutely terrible. It’s boring, stiff, rambling, and sleep-inducing.
And it doesn’t matter where you are because this issue isn’t just local. Every country and every language faces the same problem!
Why? There are many reasons. School systems have failed us. Writing is not the same as speaking. And most people haven’t learned the tricks you can use to breathe life into your writing.
But the ‘why’ doesn’t matter. What matters is the ‘how’. Specifically...
How To Fix Bad Writing Once And For All
In this series of articles, I’m going to share the tips and tricks I use to write articles, video scripts, blog posts, tweets, and so much more. And the best part? We’re going to do it in a way that doesn’t bore you to tears.
I’m not concerned with subjects, intransitive verbs, or demonstrative pronouns. That’s for your English teacher to worry about.
What we’re going to focus on is writing words that sell.
Let’s dive in:
The Quickest Way To Get People To Read Your Stuff
The first step is always to grab someone’s attention and get them to read whatever you’ve written.
Think about it: You could write the best article or make the most compelling argument, but it doesn’t matter if people click away before you’ve made your point.
Picture a newspaper. Lots of dense lines, all tightly packed together. You look at that page, and your brain thinks, “Ugh, do I really want to wade through all of that?”
Now look at the article you’re reading right now.
It’s a lot easier to digest, right?
That’s because I make it simple for you. Short paragraphs. Easy-to-understand sentences. No heavy jargon or long-winded run-on sentences.
Short Form Versus Long Form Content
Does that mean everything you write should be ultra-simple? Should you chop it up like baby food? Or talk like you’re addressing a toddler on Adderall?
Nope.
But you do need to be mindful of how you format your content. Whether it’s video, audio, or text, you’ve got to make sure your content hooks the reader and keeps them engaged.
That’s just the beginning. There’s a lot more to come.
